Celebrating Carol and Dave Crawford

February, 2016

Dear Grandchildren:

Last month we were talking about having healthy relationships.  I have a cool doctor, Dr. Sherri E. Hamnik, here in Florida and she is wonderful in helping you feel like you’re her only patient. She has cool saying in all her patient rooms. In the waiting room I was in this month, these two statements caught my attention.

Life takes you to unexpected places, love brings you home.

We do not remember days, we remember moments.

Thanks Dr. Hamnik for making a difference in your profession and for your patients.

This month, I want to talk about two great events that took place this month.

The first event happened earlier this month. Alanna Rimrodt, Jon’s girlfriend, made a confession of faith to Jesus Christ. She started a bible study with Laurie and decided to make that commitment. Congratulations Alanna! She spoke of having a real joy in her life and wants to learn more about her faith.

The second event is congratulations to my sister Carol and her husband Dave Crawford. They will celebrate fifty years of marriage on February 26th.

Dave and Carol live in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin primarily, and Florida in the winter months.

They have two wonderful kids, David who married Julie and Amy. Amy’s two children, Noah and Sam, are very special to Dave and Carol. They are wonderful grandparents.

Dave and Carol are musicians and they are still singing love songs together especially from the ’60’s and the ’70’s. Dave plays the guitar and loves Bob Seger, and Carol loves Elvis Presley. They really do make wonderful music together. For many years they have been playing regularly in their church services.

Carol remembers everything from the past. Since they’re Green Bay Packer fans, they remember the many times they beat the Detroit Lions. Ugh!

Carol loves birds of every kind and animals especially dogs. I don’t know how many dogs they’ve had, but they treat them as God’s special creatures.

Dave retired about eight years ago, but is a very good carpenter so he keeps busy working for hire or for the family. He’s not afraid to tackle any job–big or small.

Over the years, I have watched Carol and Dave raise their family and interact with their church and friends. I have noticed how tender they are, and how easy it is for them to help others when there is a need. They have and are making a difference in their world!

Congratulations, you two! We are all proud of you! We wish you both the very best in the future and pray God’s blessing on your lives.

Until next month,

Love,

Grandpa
